Jay Walking Nightmare

I like to discuss my dreams in a goal set kind of way. However, this is a very real kind of a dream- or shall I say Nightmare…

I live in the most wonderful city where I attend the most wonderful university. Elder Kim B. Clark is the president of Brigham Young University- Idaho. I have the utmost respect for this wonderful man. His councils to us are so valid in my life, and I can just feel his testimony and his love for each of us attending BYU-I every single week when he addresses us at Devotionals. However, this semester has been a little different. President Clark recently had to have a kidney transplant and because of this has been confined to his home for 2 months while his body tries to accept his new kidney. Devos have been so different without his presence as he greets us on "another great day at BYU-Idaho."

Now that being said, last Tuesday I was running late for devotional. I ran from my apartment and looked right across the road and submitted to one of my biggest petpeeves: Jaywalking.

My apartment is right across from the building where devotionals are held, so to save myself some time and effort I sprinted to the other side of the road, guilt following my every step. That night I dreamt that President Clark came up to me and used some freaky reverse psychology on me about how “young people at this university seem to disregard the laws of the land,” and he wanted my opinion on what I thought he could tell the students to have them stop disregarding some of the traffic laws “for example, jaywalking”.
I awoke from my dream frightened and horrified at what I had done. Message received President Clark. Next time I will be late rather than let you down again.
