A weird love of mine has been crocheting. I adore how therapeutic this activity is, plus I actually accomplish something while I would have otherwise just been bored. Since I have been doing this for quite a while I have become accustomed to multi-tasking. I can carry out an entire conversation, or watch a movie and work mindlessly with my hands and be able to create something beautiful. My hands and fingers are familiar with the feel of yarn and I can make things rather quickly. I have been crocheting ever since my Grandmother taught me how, when I was 9. Reflecting back upon that- I have been doing this for 10 years. It seems strange to me that it has been that long, but each time I take yarn into my hands and work on something new the familiarity returns to me and it just feels comfortable. This is something that I love and understand. Because of my love for crocheting I thought that it would be interesting to see how I fared while trying to knit. Amazed, I found that I enjoyed the various aspects of knitting nearly as much as I loved crocheting. I was pleased to find that I had a bit of a knack for the art form and took it up quickly. One of my favorite activities last winter semester of school, was to go to the exercise room in my apartment as I worked out on the Elliptical I would watch Say Yes to the Dress and knit. I finished several scarves this way.
Anyway, this semester I noticed a really cute fashion trend going on around campus they were these super cute headbands to keep your ears warm.
Seeing how I live in one of the coldest places on earth- the more warmth, the better. So I set out to learn how to make these headbands with excitement. Amazingly enough, they were easier than I could have ever dreamed that they would be to make. Since my first attempt I have made several and more will surely be coming after.
*The best part about these headbands is that they are cute! If I'm rushed in the morning I can simply put on one of these cute little headbands and voila no need for a perfect hairstyle.
I want one...
